Keep the original PNG when you need a transparent background — logos, icons, product cutouts, and UI assets with transparent areas must stay as PNG or WebP. Converting them to JPG destroys the transparency.
JPEG does not support transparency, so transparent areas are filled with a solid color (usually white or black) during conversion. If your image needs transparency for its intended use, keep it as PNG or convert to WebP instead.
